Spotlight Shines on Members

spotlightAfter meeting with so many of our members during my first six months with Philanthropy Ohio, I continue to be amazed at their engaging work. I’d like to use this blog to shine the spotlight on a few of our members who are utilizing our programming, networking opportunities and public policy work to maximize their engagement with the rest of the philanthropic community, the larger nonprofit sector and government.

For the first installment, visit Dave Mitzel and the Muskingum County Community Foundation’s website to see how they are living their vision of being the recognized leader in gathering and sharing resources that benefit their community. Then, take a look at Scholarship Central.

Now visit with The Nord Family Foundation and look at the Faces of Philanthropy in their Annual Report.  I was absolutely mesmerized!

Next, the spotlight shines on a few of our corporate members, Limited Brands Foundation, Huntington Bank, American Electric Power Foundation and Nationwide Insurance, who work tirelessly to support and promote the Pelotonia. For folks not in the Columbus area, it is the fabulous bike event which raises money to directly support cancer research conducted at the Comprehensive Cancer Center—James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute at The Ohio State University. In its first four rides, Pelotonia has attracted over 11,100 riders and raised over $42 million for cancer research.

Watch for future spotlights, and when you have a few minutes, turn the spotlight on yourself and tell me about the great things you are doing!
