OGF President Espy to Retire
On behalf of OGF’s board of trustees, Heidi Jark, chair, announced an impending transition in staff leadership at OGF. During the annual board planning retreat, George Espy notified trustees of his intention to retire from the position of president of OGF and asked the board to define the process that will culminate in the selection of his successor. Although no date certain has been set for his retirement, the board has begun to develop the process and will conduct the search required to fill this important position.
Espy has been with OGF since 2000, having served for two years as the first director of the northeast Ohio office before being named president of the organization in 2003. During his tenure, OGF has become a strong statewide advocate for philanthropy. Espy has served as chair of the board of directors of the Forum of Regional Associations of Grantmakers, a member of the board of directors of the Council on Foundations and chair of the Ohio Attorney General’s Charitable Advisory Council. Ms. Jark commented that the board will keep members abreast of efforts to ensure a smooth transition in the leadership of OGF. Please direct questions to Ms. Jark at firstname.lastname@example.org.
