Nonprofit use of social networks remains strong

The 3rd annual Nonprofit Social Network Benchmark Report is out and contains some interesting data:

  • 9 of 10 nonprofits have a presence on Facebook;
  • 57% use a Twitter account;
  • 1 in 3 use LinkedIn;
  • 5 of 10 nonprofits share video via YouTube; and
  • 46% have raised modest amounts ($1 to $10,000 annually) online.

The report includes responses from just over 11,000 nonprofit leaders of all types, who completed the survey in January and February of this year.  How does your foundation’s use of social media compare to these findings? And, perhaps more importantly, what value has it added?
